J.K. Rowling has always been interested in writing. Already as a teenager she made her first attempts to write fantasy books. In her adult life, she worked as a teacher and often had to live on a shoestring.

She needed the help of social welfare to raise her child. But despite manoeuvring through a variety of obstacles, she never gave up on her passion of writing books.

Supposedly, she invented the story of a young wizard, Harry Potter, while waiting for a delayed train.

Harry Potter became very successful with over 500 mln copies sold! 

Nowadays, according to “Forbes,” she is the world’s highest‑paid author across all categories in the world. J.K. Rowling didn’t want to keep this fortune for herself, though. In 2011, she donated 16 percent of her total net worth, equal to about $160 million.

She remains a very engaged charity donor.

Christiansen was born with cerebral palsy and she couldn’t walk until the age of 4.

To improve her condition, her mother decided to enrol her in riding therapy classes.

Soon, they discovered that Sophie had a knack for it and horseback riding became her passion.

Not only did she learn to walk very quickly but she really excelled in the discipline. She has competed in four successive Paralympic Games. In 2008, she won two gold medals and a silver at the Beijing Paralympics. 

At the same time, she was studying for a master's degree in mathematics. At present, Sophie works as a software developer at the investment bank, Goldman Sachs, and as a disability campaigner.

Selena’s mother was only 16 when she gave birth to her talented daughter. 

They were as poor as a church mouse and often had to eat the cheapest food, for example dollar store spaghetti. 

However, there was one positive element of their poor existence: little Selena had a great affinity for singing.

Soon, she was discovered by film producers and Selena started performing in Disney productions.

Selena is now a music and movie superstar with 80 film and television credits and with a staggering net worth of $75 million.
