London

Hi, I’m Charlie. I live in London. I have lived here all my life.

London is home to people from every corner of the world: Ireland, France, Poland, Brazil, China, Malawi, and many more. We are very different, but we are all Londoners; there are over nine million of us! My favourite spot in London is South Bank by the river Thames. It’s always full of tourists, buskers, and street performers and there is a special place for skaters: Southbank Skatepark. People say British skateboarding was born there. You can get there easily. Just take the Tube, or what we call underground in London, and get off at Waterloo station. You will love the atmosphere of this place!

New York City

Hi, I’m Florencio and I live in New York City. I was born here, but both of my parents are Italian. They came to America to run an Italian restaurant.

I love New York. People say it’s the city that never sleeps and that is very true. It’s crowded and busy even in the middle of the night. You may think New York is dangerous, especially if you watch a lot of Hollywood movies, but I don’t agree. There is a famous narrow street called Cortlandt Alley which has been featured in hundreds of crime stories. It’s a perfect place to film a police chase or mafia shooting, but in fact it’s just one of many Manhattan alleys with shops or offices. When my Italian cousins visited us, we went there to take some photos. It was fun! We also went for a ride on Roosevelt Island Tram, a cable car which offers a fantastic view of the city and the trip costs the same as a ride on the subway.

Toronto

Hello there, I’m Anna from Toronto. Toronto is the biggest city in Canada and that’s probably why some people think it’s the capital of the country. That's not true, our capital is Ottawa. Make sure you remember our capital next time! I love animals and we have one of the largest zoos in the world. There are more than five thousand different animals and plenty to do and see even in winter. Just pop into one of the indoor pavilions. By the way, winters can be harsh in Toronto, but we know how to escape the cold. We have The Path, a network of underground walkways or tunnels for pedestrians with shops and restaurants that runs under downtown Toronto. It is more than 30 kilometres long. If you don’t like snow, you can use it to get around the city.

Sydney

Good day, I’m Nat from Sydney. My city is the best in the whole world! The weather is always good and we have the greatest beaches of all. You must have heard of Bondi Beach. The word „bondi” comes from Aboriginal, the native language of the continent, and it means „to surf” or „the sound of the waves.” The beach is only seven kilometres from the city centre and, if you are a tourist, it’s a fantastic place to experience our Australian, easy‑going beach culture. I love watching surfers doing their tricks and then trying them myself.

Another  great thing about Bondi Beach is Christmas, because it’s summer in December in Australia. People love having Christmas barbecues on the beach. Santa in swimming trunks? Why not, come on to see yourself!
