Yosemite is California’s most popular National Park and for good reason. The area is full of waterfalls, amazing rock formations, and sequoias. 

Sequoias are the Earth’s tallest trees and some of them are over 2000 years old! Seeing them at least once should be on every nature lover's bucket list. Yosemite is also a great vacation destination if you’re into hiking. No matter if you’re an experienced hiker or a beginner, there are numerous trails and peaks to explore. The park takes its name from the glacier that covered half the continent during the ice age. What’s left behind are countless lakes, creeks, and waterfalls. It’s also a great location for fans of fauna, as the park has got dozens of animal species to observe. The most famous one, and the park’s symbol, is the mountain goat. 

This park exists to protect the world’s tallest trees: sequoias. Many visitors call the location “humbling” as it’s easy to feel small underneath the canopies of the towering sequoias. 

In fact, the park is home to the General Sherman’s tree, the tallest tree in the world. The sequoia is 84 metres tall and between 2.5 to 3 thousand years old.  Wilderness covers most of the park’s area and you’re only allowed to visit the park on foot or horseback. There are no roads or buildings. It’s a perfect destination for fans of nature.
