You can’t help but admire her, when she talks about going to school despite a Taliban edict prohibiting girls from doing so. I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban, she says about herself in the title of her autobiography. You might know her as Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate. These two titles tell you what a remarkableremarkableremarkable young person she is.
In 2012, Malala was 15 and, despite the Taliban’s reign of terrorreign of terrorreign of terror, she was still attending school. The school bus was taking her and her friends home when it was stopped by a masked gunman. He got on, and looking around the petrifiedpetrifiedpetrified faces demanded “Who is Malala?” Then, he shot the girl in the head.
