My FamilyHi, my name’s Josh Johns and I’m 13 years old. My first namefirst name and surnamesurname sound similar but that's okay, because people remember me better.
In the picture below you can see my whole family. We live in a terraced houseterraced house in Bournemouth in the south of England. My parents’ names are Adam and Tara. They are both engineersengineers and work in the same company. They say they are adultsadults and we have to listen to them. My sister Hannah once told me that our parents were already middle‑agedmiddle‑aged. My mum always tells me it’s inappropriateinappropriate to ask a woman her age, but I can tell you both of my parents are in their 40sin their 40s. Hannah is already in college and she says she’s a young adultyoung adult so I have to listen to her too.
I get on really well with my younger brother Sam. Sam is 6 and my parents say he already looks like a first‑graderfirst‑grader. He is going to start school soon.
Yesterday mum told me to stop behavingbehaving like a teenagerteenager. I have no idea what she means! I just wanted to chat with my classmatesclassmates (I love it), and locked myself in the bedroom. To be honestTo be honest, I can’t waitcan’t wait to be a real teenager! I remember my sister going to loud parties and talking on the phone with her boyfriend all the time.
I love spending time with my grandpa John. He always tells me that he is a pensionerpensioner and he doesn’t have to work anymore so he can spend all his time with his grandchildrengrandchildren. My grandma Anna is a seniorsenior too, which I think means she’s really old. She’s not a pensioner, she still works as a doctor in our local hospital. She’s a paediatricianpaediatrician and always visits me when I’m sick. Last time when I had to stay in bed with the fluflu, my grandparents popped inpopped in and told me a lot of funny stories about my family. I found outfound out so many things! For example, when Hannah was a babybaby, she loved to chewchew the ear of one of her teddy bears. I know this teddy bear is still in her bedroom, I think I’ll try to joke with her about that. And when my mum was just a toddlertoddler, she ate a few pages of my granny’s favorite book – maybe that’s why she’s so keen onkeen on reading now. I’m just wondering about Hannah and her poor teddy, perhaps it means she wil become a vetvet?
