My Trip to New York CityHi Guys!
Today I want to tell you about my trip to New York City (NYC). It took us 9 hours by plane to get there from Warsaw. The distance is almost 6,850 kilometres. You must know that New York City is one of the biggest cities in the world. There are 5 boroughsboroughs there: Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
Many people say New York is the City That Never Sleeps, because there are so many things to do. We started from Manhattan. I think it is the most popular place in NYC. We walked alongalong Broadway, a famous street with lots of theatrestheatres. We also spent some time in Central Park, which is often called The Green LungsLungs of New York City. Why? Because there are so many trees and other plants. We walked and admiredadmired beautiful nature. We also visited the Central Park Zoo.
Many people call New York City a Melting PotMelting Pot because it is a very multiculturalmulticultural city and people from all over the world live there. I could see it when I visited Times SquareTimes Square. I saw hundreds of people and heard languages from all over the world. A real melting pot.
NYC is also called The City of SkyscrapersSkyscrapers because there are many high‑rise buildingshigh‑rise buildings, especially in Manhattan. The most popular skyscraper is the Empire State BuildingEmpire State Building. There are two popular observatoriesobservatories, one on the 86th floorfloor and the second one on the 102nd floor. Do you know you have to take 1,872 steps to get there? But of course, we didn’t walk. We took the lift.
We also went to Staten Island by ferryby ferry. On the way there, we passed the Statue of LibertyStatue of Liberty. Do you know that Lady Liberty, as New YorkersNew Yorkers call her, was a gift from France to the USA? Today it is the symbol of freedomfreedom to people all over the world. To visit the Statue of Liberty, we took a ferry to Liberty Island. I had to climb 354 steps to get into her crowncrown.
My time in New York City was short but full of attractions. I think I saw lots of important landmarkslandmarks, but there are many more. I would like to see the Christmas Tree at the Rockefeller CenterRockefeller Center. I must ask my parents to go there in winter. And what about you? Would you like to see NYC?
