New Transport TechnologiesTechnology is developingdeveloping very fast. It is changing every aspect of our lives, transport, too! What will transport look like in the futurein the future?
There are lots of cars in our streets and we often have to wait in traffic jamstraffic jams. Maybe it’s time to start flying instead ofinstead of driving? Some companies are testingare testing flying taxis. It means that we will fly to different places in our cities instead of driving our own cars. Flying taxis will be fastfast and comfortable. What’s more, we won’t have to wait long to use them. One company is planning to start using them in Paris in 2024!
Another flying thing that may be popular in the future is a dronedrone. Drones will transport packagespackages directly to our houses. Drones will be much faster than courierscouriers because they will not wait in traffic jams or look forlook for the right address. They can also transport packages to far awayfar away places. Can you imagine that a drone will bring your postpost instead of a postmanpostman?
A lot of devicesdevices we use nowadays are smart. It is possible that transport will become smart, too! Some companies are working on smart bicyclessmart bicycles! You will be able to connectconnect your bike with other devices, for example your smartphone. This way you will plan your triptrip and the smart bike will help you get where you want. Smart bikes will also have special chips and react to people’s voicesreact to people’s voices!
Finally, many companies are working on self‑driving carsself‑driving cars. Some of them are already testing such cars in traffictraffic! The idea is that the drivers will be able to sit and enjoy the journeyenjoy the journey while the self‑driving car will get them where they want. Is it safesafe? Experts don’t know yet. That’s why they are doing a lot of tests.
