Think Out Of The Box!
Żaneta Mucharska Think Out Of The Box!

The Municipal Cultural Centre, like every semester, organises extra curricular art activities for those aged 11–17 to develop their hobbies. Our Cultural Centre gathers young people who are eager to stimulate their imaginationare eager to stimulate their imagination [be eager to do something]are eager to stimulate their imagination and release their creativity, not necessarily having experience in these areas. We follow Mary Lou Cook’s quote: “Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” Come and check out our classes! Feel free to choose more than one!

Plenty of scientists confirm a positive impact of arts & craftsarts & craftsarts & crafts on people of every age, especially kids and teenagers. Such activities influence the development of patience and creative thinking. In addition, they are also not indifferent toindifferent toindifferent to mental health and personality.

What do we offer? Our Municipal Cultural Centre provides you with many different classes linked to arts & crafts. The most common ones are felt artsfelt artsfelt arts or potterypotterypottery. Felt art is one of the oldest forms of textile art. Such activity stimulates the imagination to create your own patterns or designs. Pottery is an essential manual practice and enables both exercise and strengthening your wrists and hands. Certainly, during these classes you will not experience boredom!

If your hobby is decorating or minor repairs, and instead of needles you prefer screwdrivers, you definitely ought to attend DIY (Do It Yourself)DIY (Do It Yourself)DIY (Do It Yourself) classes. DIY is a broad term, and accordinglyaccordinglyaccordingly, classes are also diverse. You will get to know valuable skills and put them in practice. Apart from minor repairs, our classes give you a chance to form your own ideas. This way, you can create your own home decorations that do not cost much. DIY art allows you to think out of the boxthink out of the boxthink out of the box and it is a perfect opportunity to share your ideas with other creative students.

Have you ever tried painting? Have you ever attempted to use various painting techniques such as glass paintingglass paintingglass painting? This form of art can be stress‑reducing, what is more, it is very practical, too. Instead of using traditional easels to paint, you use glass. You can use gained knowledge and skills to create, for example, a decorative stained glassstained glassstained glass window. When it comes to long‑term benefitslong‑term benefits [long‑term benefit]long‑term benefits of this activity, some research shows that   draughtsmendraughtsmen [draughtsman] BrE draftsmen [draftsman] (AmE)draughtsmen and painters have better developed memory, which might be necessary in everyday life.

Apart from a painting class, the Municipal Cultural Centre has a calligraphy club on offer. Assuming that you are interested in learning or developing the skill of beautiful writing, it is the perfect place for you. Not only is it a very practical ability, but also very restfulrestfulrestful. You don’t feel the pressure to hurry, as you focus on one stroke at a timeone stroke at a timeone stroke at a time. There are countless ways to write one word, it depends on your creativity and ideas how you will do it. The more you practice, the more interesting effects you get.

If you're not very keen on manual work but you are still enthusiastic about art or nature, a photographyphotographyphotography club will let you capture amazing moments. In terms of equipment, you don’t have to bring your cameras, as we provide the participants with cameras, lenses, or tripod standstripod stands [a tripod stand]tripod stands.
