Green cars are more expensive than petrol‑powered cars, but it's a good idea to consider the long‑term costs of maintenancemaintenance and refuelling. Electric cars don't require oil changes, and electricity is cheaper than petrol. In addition, a buyer can receive a non‑refundable tax creditnon‑refundable tax credit for purchasing electric vehicles, which simply means they will pay less tax.
It's not necessary to fill up the car with petrol, but it needs to be charged. Charging an EV takes around 30‑60 minutes and it requires a special charging stationcharging station. It’s worth remembering that there are fewer public charging stations than gas stations. What is more, some people decide not to buy an electric car because of range anxietyrange anxiety. It simply means the fear of running out of power before reaching the destination or a charging pointcharging point. However, the range of electric cars is around 320‑480 kilometres, which is sufficientsufficient for daily use.
In conclusion, buying a green car is not a simple decision, and it's up to a potential buyer to consider the benefits and drawbacks of green cars.
