Summer Fun with My GrandparentsDo you like summer? I know I do! I finally have time to do the things I love - go skateboarding, rollerbladingrollerblading, play some dartsdarts... I also love visiting my grandparents in the summer because they have the best ideas on how to spend time and have fun.
Both my grandpa and grandma are very active, even sportysporty. They are both pushing 70pushing 70, but they still go jogginggo jogging every morning, all year round. I can’t even run a mile without losing my breath! They also often go campinggo camping and visit some amazing and frequently remote placesremote places, such as nature reservesnature reserves or natural monumentsnatural monuments. For instance, they have been to the Isle of Man and the Giant’s Causeway!
When I visit them, and it’s nice and warm outside, we go hikinggo hiking - my grandparents live near a forest with some great trailstrails. I prefer that to staying indoors and playing video gamesplaying video games. One day, I want to try something more adventurousadventurous, e.g. rock climbingrock climbing, and maybe I’ll ask my grandparents to go with me. I’m sure they could teach me a thing or two about that as well.
Even on rainy days, we are never bored! We play board gamesplay board games, such as Monopoly - the competition is always fiercefierce, still it’s my grandma who always wins! On some evenings, my grandpa plays the guitarplays the guitar and we sing along. He likes playing the newest hits, sometimes he puts on a whole performance. Once my grandparents tried to teach me to play cards, but I’m hopeless at that because it’s hard for me to bluffbluff and keep my poker facepoker face. It was good fun though!
So, summer is definitely my favourite time of the year, how about you?
