Classical music is not my favourite music genre, but I like listening to some pieces of music, especially if they are familiar. I am more into hip‑hop or rap music, because I like strong beats and lyrics in a tune, so classical music is just not my cup of tea.
Classical music concerts are not only for the older generation. Some young people appreciate classical music as much as other music genres, and they simply enjoy going to such concerts. Additionally, there are many young musicians who play this type of music in an innovative way, or they incorporate some elements of pop culture in their performances, and this draws young audiences.

Behind them there is the brass instruments section, with some trumpeters, and in the last row I can see the percussion section, with one musician playing a huge drum, and the other playing kettledrums.

Dear Chris,

I am writing to tell you about a concert I attended last week.

My friend Tomek insisted that I should see it. He said I would experience something special, and I did!

Initially, the classical concert seemed to follow a rigid format connected with this type of music genre. However, the violinist was far from typical! His violin looked futuristic and he played it in an innovative way, as if he was playing a game with the orchestra and the conductor! It was so brilliant!

Before that concert, I thought that classical music was dull and only for old people, but now I think this music has lots to offer to teenagers if we learn to understand it.

If you have a chance to attend a concert like this one, give it a go. Then, you must write to me about it!
