Standardised tests are designed to determine one’s language proficiency using uniform evaluation and objectivity to ensure that they are reliable and fair. Language fluency and accuracy may be assessed in various types of language tests, sometimes in the form of a suite of tests, not just one. Reading and listening comprehension are skills tested in almost all types of international language exams. While taking an oral examination, a lot of attention is paid to pronunciation and fluency. Such tests are valid for a varied time, usually two years, and are widely recognised worldwide, so it is worth taking them if you are planning to live and work abroad.
