People go fossil hunting because they would like to feel the thrill of finding evidence of prehistoric creatures. It is exciting to see a part of a history hidden in a small stone.
The last time I found an unusual rock was when I was 8 years old. It was at the coast of the Baltic Sea where I strolled on the beach early in the morning to see the sunrise. I still keep this rock on my fireplace.
Dinosaur extinction is for me a fascinating topic. It is hard for me to believe how they disappeared from the Earth so fast and how destructive and powerful the giant strike was.
Looking for amber seems to be a stimulating activity. The collection of organisms preserved in amber gives us great insights into the resinous‑forest ecosystems.

An unusual piece of rock!

I have always been interested in geography. As a child, I used to visit my family living by the sea and spent hours searching for uniquely shaped rocks. Thanks to my early interests and paying attention to details, I have gathered vast knowledge about the history of the Earth and participated in many fossil hunts.

Do you happen to know that about 65 million years ago dinosaurs existed on Earth? However, they went extinct when a giant asteroid slammed into the Earth. What is more, the largest dinosaur fossil found in central Argentina was nearly 34 metres high. Can you believe that?

I have always been into fossils and dinosaurs, but I have also explored my neighbourhood and further regions to learn new facts. I have joined an organisation called Hunting for Fossils, which taught me some rules on how to be successful while collecting fossils and provided the necessary equipment. I learned that the best time for hunting comes in winter and spring as the rain, wind, and rough seas tend to yield a greater volume of findings. Thanks to my active participation in such ventures, I have assembled a huge collection of fossils, which I am going to display at school next week.

I strongly encourage everyone to visit my humble exhibition! I have just one piece of advice for you. Watch where you stand, because you never know if you have missed a treasure.
