I think that smart homes are not a safe place to live in because if you forget the password, or the system doesn’t recognise you, you won’t be able to enter your house. Moreover, hackers can hack into the system, get your passwords, and break into your home.
In my opinion, most people will live in smart homes because the technology will be more and more available and less and less expensive. It will also be easier to operate. People will want to have more time for their passions and hobbies and labour‑saving devices will save their time.
One of the disadvantages of smart homes can be that people will become more lazy. High‑tech devices will cook and clean for them. Another one could be the fact that children will be addicted to appliances like voice activated assistants and won’t know how to communicate with real people.

Smart homes are definitely getting more and more common. Living in a smart home can have both advantages and disadvantages.

Without a doubt, in a smart home you can find many gadgets and high‑end devices which help make your life much easier. You can, for example, operate your washing machine with one tap on your phone. Your utility bills will be much lower because you are able to set up the temperature so it’s not too hot in the house. Smart homes are also more secure because you can have cameras and different detectors which will send alerts if there’s a possible break‑in. Thanks to that, people feel safer and more comfortable.

However, smart homes can have disadvantages, too. Firstly, with all the devices, people get more lazy. Because they are all internet‑operated, in case there’s no electricity, people will not know how to operate them. Moreover, it is very easy for hackers to break into the system and get the passwords which open the doors.

Taking everything into consideration, smart homes offer a more comfortable and easy life, but also they are not fully safe. In my opinion, people should be careful when deciding to live in a fully smart home.
