Exercise 1
RAfbYED0Jw5Ru
Read the text below and highlight 6 activities referring to saving money with the colour blue, and 5 activities which refer to adding to the cost of travelling with the colour red. When you decide to go out in the world, you have to plan everything carefully. One of the first things you should do is book your flight in advance, and think about accommodation. Staying in a hotel is not the best idea, because it will drain your wallet very quickly. Choosing a hostel, however, will not only allow you to find an affordable place, but also give you an opportunity to work as a hostel worker when you are short of cash and need to earn a little before you hit the road again. Be careful about dining in fancy eateries and buying lots of souvenirs. Those are definite no-nos when you are on a budget. Instead, buy fresh produce at a local market (after a little bit of haggling) and cook your own meals. Remember that withdrawing money from an ATM will usually be connected with extra fees, so if you really have to, do it only once, with a bigger amount of money that you should then divide into smaller ones and keep in different places. When you are in a new place, choose strolling instead of taking taxis, as it will not only keep you in shape, but also let you find the hidden spots with attractions not available to typical tourists. Finally, remember that travelling is the time when you should unwind and live it up, so stop stressing about spending, and capture beautiful moments on the way!
