Although our school has access to the internet, uses cutting edge equipment like interactive boards and learning applications, I still learn best when I read things from books and I wouldn’t like to get rid of this method. Reading texts and making notes enhances my studying and makes me accomplish my aims. So you will often find me looking through books in a library. There is a huge one in our school. But due to the pandemic, the opening hours have been cut short.

Corporal punishment is bad because it’s not fair to beat anyone. It is also wrong to hit someone who is younger and smaller than you. Moreover, it’s not effective; it’s better to explain things to children because then you will get their respect.
I prefer practical classes because I like doing experiments. I learn best when I can see processes, not read about them. It is easier to memorise knowledge then.
One advantage of gamification is that it is a chance to have fun, nearly everyone likes playing games. What’s more, when you play educational games, you can revise material covered in class. Another positive aspect of gamification is that you can compete with other students and see who is the best.
Online classes aren’t very effective because I can’t focus on the topic. They are too interactive and the teacher has to solve technical problems all the time. Also, students can do what they want during such lessons and say that their microphone isn’t working.

Guess what? I’m doing a project about schools in the past and at present.
I’ve decided to take part in the project because I’m keen on history and my teacher showed us a fascinating video about schools in the past during our lesson last month. The project started a week ago and I’ve already done a lot of research.
In the past schools used to be very different from those we know. Lessons were mostly lectures and based on rote learning. There was one board in the classroom and teachers wrote on them with chalk. Students learnt things by heart.
In contemporary schools teachers explain things, but they also ask students to make presentations. Modern technology is widely used in the learning process: there are interactive boards and Internet access. While students still use books, they also do interactive tasks on various platforms.
In my opinion, learning nowadays is much easier and more effective because we use technology in class. What do you think about my views? Is your school as modern as mine?
