The ideal boss for me would be a person who supports his or her workers in the best possible way. A person with an air of authority, but one who would never resort to mobbing and prohibit it in his or her company. Instead, such a boss would always be encouraging towards his or her employees and build trust between them.

A good boss means…?

As a high school student, I sometimes think about my future career, which leads to a question; what kind of boss will I have? A Polish saying goes: appreciate your boss, you can always have a worse one, but what if my boss turns out to be a strict one? Actually, having a strict boss is not that bad and has as many pros as cons.

I believe that a strict boss might be a blessing unless they are fair and supportive. They may help you determine your goals and priorities when you’re not sure what to start with, especially when you’re overloaded with work. What’s more, they can raise the bar gradually, which will make you develop your skills and gain more knowledge.

On the other hand, a strict boss might turn your life into a nightmare. When they require a tone of work to be done in a short period of time, especially when you’re at the start of your career, the experience may be devastating. As a result, you will feel under pressure and lose motivation and enthusiasm at work. And that, obviously, won’t be profitable for none; you and your employer.

It seems to me that a mixture of leniency and strictness make a perfect boss. Ideally, it would be a leader who inspires others to excel in their job performance. Instead of saying “You and I”, the leader would say “WE” as they know they are part of the team.
