Exercise 1

Read the text and highlight in purple the six words or phrases connected with ailments and symptoms related to your nose resulting from the common cold. I find infections caused by the pathogens of the common cold extremely difficult to bear. For example, a sore throat is the most frequent reason for my absences from school as I find it difficult to speak. I often use saline drops when i have a runny nose. This being said, I try to always stay away from zinc-based sprays, which are quite effective, but have some harmful side-effects. In addition to those, I find gargling salt water effective, but rarely use herbal remedies which aren’t scientifically proven to work.
