Finding Your Way Back
AnnaLechFinding Your Way Back
Have you ever got lost in the mountains? Well, I have… It happened last summer, when I was on holiday with my family.
My parents, my twin brother John and I were staying at a glamping site called “The Lakeside View” in the mountains. By the way, “glamping” is a word which. is a combination of “glamorousglamorousglamorous” and “camping.” Glamping is like s, only for people who like to be close to nature and stay comfortable. So our glamorous glamping tenttenttent had a wooden floor, comfortable mattressesmattresses [mattress]mattresses and a little veranda with hammockshammocks [hammock]hammocks.
One day, my family's plan was to walk along a mountain trailtrailtrail, have lunch in a beautiful valleyvalleyvalley, and take photos of mountain rangesmountain ranges [mountain range]mountain ranges. Unfortunately, our mum’s feet started to hurt a few minutes after we set offset offset off because she had uncomfortableuncomfortableuncomfortable boots. She decided to take a cable carcable carcable car to get to the valley. John and I wanted to climb a difficult pathpathpath and see a beautiful waterfallwaterfallwaterfall on the way. We decided to splitsplitsplit.
We got a bit tired when going up the path, but the waterfall turned out to be really beautiful. However, the falling water was very loud. I just heard John shouting “Hey Adam!” Then, he said something and walked away. I couldn’t see him anywhere. I remembereSd that when you get separated fromget separated fromget separated from your group, you shouldn’t walk away and wait for someone to get back for you. I waited for ages, but no one came.
I was getting hungry and decided to walk to our glamping site. I was sure John, Mum and Dad were already there having dinner. After a short walk, I saw elegant tents and happy campers again. But… our tent wasn’t there! I didn’t know what to do. An elderly ladyelderly ladyelderly lady came up to me. “Where am I?” I asked her. She pointed to a big sign “Lakeside Panorama.” I was at a glamping site which looked almost the same as ours! We were staying at “Lakeside View” not “Lakeside Panorama.” Luckily, I knew my parents number by heartby heartby heart and called them from the nice lady’s mobile. She gave me a liftgave me a lift [give someone a lift]gave me a lift to our camping in her car. When I saw my parents I was really happy!
And what about John? Well, when I saw him waving at me he was trying to tell me to run after him to meet our parents. He ran very quickly and was sure I was going after him…
