Interesting

Emotions are strong feelings, caused by some intense experience, manifested by animated mimicry, gesticulation, raised voice, accelerated heartbeat. They can be positive or negative, pleasant or unpleasant, strong or weak.

Dealing with your emotions is not always easy, but it is worth looking at them, because they can tell you a lot about yourself.

Exercise 2

Read the text entitled “Jak Kuba Bogu…” by Małgorzata Musierowicz in lesson “Guided by emotions” at epodreczniki.pl. Pay attention to the emotions of the characters.

  • When and where does the action take place?

  • Who takes part in the events?

  • What pushed Ida to act?

  • Kto pod kim dołki kopie, ten sam w nie wpada.

  • Nie czyń drugiemu, co tobie niemiłe.

  • Jeśli wejdziesz między wrony, musisz krakać jak i one.

  • Cicha woda brzegi rwie.

Interesting

Some emotions are easily recognisable on the faces of people. Many of them are universal for all cultures, e.g. surprise manifests itself in raised eyebrows, wide open eyes and a lowered jaw.
