The idea of beauty goes beyond appearances. Beauty changes and transforms with time and is defined differently in different cultures. For example, most Turkish women consider heavy make‑up as an essential part of looking beautiful. By contrast, most French women prefer to wear no make‑up and look natural. In other words, we definitely cannot say that the amount of make‑up on a person's face determines their beauty.
We also cannot assume that the word “cute” has a universal meaning. For some people, the word comes to mind when they see a picture of an adorableadorable cat and share it with friends because the image triggers positive emotions and makes them smile with pleasure. Others may be mesmerized by the sight of a car, looking flawlessflawless because of its design and impeccableimpeccable engineering . Even something as down‑to‑earth as a shopping mall may appear aesthetically pleasingaesthetically pleasing on its exterior and sophisticatedsophisticated in its interior. Let us not overlook cutting‑edgecutting‑edge technology of the newest electronic devices, whose new features and capacities strike us as dazzlingdazzling. These devices not only facilitate our daily lives by saving time, but they also have the wow factorhave the wow factor with their unique features, such as the 4K video resolution in smartphones and health monitoring apps in smart watches.
The way new solutions have been created is beyond our imagination. In short, what we perceive as “beautiful” generally appears to us as one‑of‑a-kindone‑of‑a-kind. However, this perception may be temporary. As time goes by, something which was once beautiful becomes boring, while another thing that was once boring becomes beautiful, like a song we didn’t like at first, but can’t stop listening to all day long. All in all, beauty is subjective and goes beyond physical appearance and personal tastetaste.
