Exercise 1
Read the text and colour the words and expressions: the synonyms of the word “clothes” should be coloured in red, and the adjectives describing clothes should be coloured in green. Ladies and gentlemen, today I have the pleasure to present to you my new womenswear and menswear spring collection. It showcases outfits which will be all the rage this season. First, the attire is composed of low-rise trousers and loose-fitting jumpers with sequins. You can wear them for school or after work. It’s all made from good quality organic cotton. You can pair this with sneakers and a hat. Another piece is apparel for daredevils. Torn-looking jeans paired with a lace see-through top which will make you chic on every dance floor. Accessorise it with a leather belt and beads to enhance your look. For men I have this fabulous preppy set, chinos and button-down shirt. You can wear this apparel for work. If you put on moccasins and a denim jacket, your style will be both exquisite and appropriate for a trip. Another proposal is bell-bottom jeans with a peasant blouse. Add to it a fake leather jacket and platform boots which are indispensable here to achieve a spectacular style. This ensemble will give you a modern and flawless look, because the 70’s are back in style. I hope you like my designs which are characterised by precision fit and the use of the best quality fabrics. They are going to be available in retail stores and online shops come March. Thank you.
