Nowadays, women competing in all sport disciplines is a common view that does not surprise anyone. It does not occur to anyone to question women’s right to participate in team sports, martial arts, or weight lifting, which, until recently, were considered inappropriate for women. Clearly, women have a fighting spirit, so they fought their way to Olympic stadiums.

Exercise 5

Ski jumping was not accepted as a women’s Olympic discipline until 2014. One of the reasons was an opinion that it’s not healthy for women to practise this sport. What do you think about this criterion of accepting or refusing any sport as an Olympic discipline for women? Write your opinion in 5–6 sentences.
