Lesson plan overview (Process)

Introduction

1. The teacher determines the purpose of the lesson: the students will learn what characterises a good note and about different ways of listing.

2. The teacher asks the students, in what situations and for what purpose they create notes, whether their preparation is easy, what should be included in the good note (what does it mean „good note” – eg understandable, short, factual). Together with the students, he indicates the most important features.

Realization

1. Students perform interactive task No. 1 – they get acquainted with the definition of a note, and then create and pin their notes on the interactive board with information about shopping and a reminder about a visit to the dentist.

2. The teacher talks with the students about their notes, determines whether they are short and understandable enough. Students perform interactive task No. 2, which consists in matching the appropriate abbreviations to words (including PLN, No., kg, see).

3. The teacher starts a discussion about the different ways of listing and their effectiveness. Students' ideas can be written on the blackboard (brainstorming).

4. Students look at a photo gallery showing various forms of notes – tables, points, charts, abstracts, mind maps. They wonder in which situations individual forms can be used.

5. Students divided into groups write down the advantages and disadvantages of individual ways of quoting and indicate which issues from the Polish language can be presented with their help.

Group I: table

Group II: points

Group III: drawing with description

Group IV: chart / diagram

Group V: summary

Group VI: mind map

Group representatives present ideas.

6. The teacher encourages students to look through notebooks and textbooks to observe what types of notes occur most often (and whether individual items differ in this respect).

Summary

The teacher asks the students questions asking for a summary, e.g.

  • Why is it worth creating individual notes?

  • Which form of taking notes I consider the best for me?

  • Which form of taking notes seems the least useful to me? Why?

  • What would I still like to learn about taking notes?

  • What was incomprehensible to me? What would I like to ask?

Homework

Make a note in your notebook, in which you will put literary genres that have been known so far. Choose any form.

How to make notes to remember?

The note serves to remember something, it helps in learning. Do you know what a good note should be? First of all, clear and transparent, economical in words and graphically attractive. It does not have to be a continuous text, you can use tables, diagrams, charts, drawings.

When do we make notes? Is it easy to make them? What should the good note include? Can you list universal features of a note?

In what way did you write your note? Is it short enough and easy to understand? Did you use any abbreviations and drawings?

How can you make taking notes easier? In what form can you make a note?

What forms of notes are most common in student notebooks? Do notes from various subjects differ from each other? What does it prove?
