Home is... The importance of home in a person's life.
Target group
4th‑grade students of an elementary school.
Core curriculum
I. Literary and cultural education.
1. Reading literary works. Student:
1) discusses the elements of the represented world, separates poetic images in poetry;
4) knows and recognises in the literary text: epithet, comparison, metaphor, onomatopoeia, diminutive, augmentative, epithet, vivification, apostrophe, anaphora, rhetorical question, repetition and determines their functions;
9) characterizes the lyrical subject, narrator and heroes in the read works;
12) defines the theme and the issue of the work;
14) names the impressions of the text he reads;
15) explains literal and figurative meanings in texts;
17) presents his own understanding of the work and justifies it;
18) uses own experience and elements of culture knowledge while interpreting the texts;
19) expresses own judgment about the characters and events.
II. Language education.
2. Language differentiation. Student:
3) uses a style appropriate to the communication situation;
5) recognises idiomatic expressions in statements, notices their richness, understands their meaning and correctly applies them in statements.
III. Creating statements.
1. Elements of rhetoric. Student:
3) creates logical, semantically full and ordered statement, using a composition and graphic layout appropriate to the given form. understands the role of paragraphs in creating the whole of a thought expression;
2. Speaking and writing. Student:
5) talks about a text that he has read.
The general aim of education

Lesson plan overview (Process)
Introduction
1. The teacher determines the purpose of the classes, which will be to create a poetic image of the home by the students.
2. The teacher and students start the lesson „Home is where all of us are together”. Students listen to the first part of the recording.
3. Creating an interactive map, individually or in pairs (task 1) – writing down associations with the word „home”. The teacher asks students about written associations. The chosen student can write them down in the form of a mind map on the board. Students, giving their associations, should also provide justification for them. Students redraw the mind map to their notebooks.
Realization
1. Students perform task 2, lexical: recognition of different types of homes.
2. Then the teacher starts the lesson „The house is where we are all together” on epodreczniki.pl and reads loudly the poem „Czas miłości” by Wiktor Woroszylski or asks the chosen student to read it.
3. The teacher encourages students to speak about the poem: What is the main idea of this poem? What is a house for a narrator of a poem? How do you understand his title?
4. Students complete their maps with thoughts about associations that appeared in the poem, and were not previously noted on the board.
5. Students perform interactive task 5: the house of my dreams. They choose objects and people that according to them create a home. The task has no option to check, all responses are possible. The teacher should check the students' answers and give them a comment (task 6).
6. Students, in pairs or individually, create a poem about the house. They can be prepared in the form of answers to the questions given in the task, 7 or otherwise, as suggested by the teacher.
7. Presentation of poems on the class forum.
Summary
The teacher asks selected / willing students to try to summarise the lesson. He provides each statement with a comment.
Homework
Conduct a survey among people of all ages, asking for associations with the word „home”. Do any words repeat? Write down the conclusions from the questionnaire in a notebook.

Home is where all of us are together
Home is not about objects: wallpapers, furniture, chandeliers, or paintings. Home is about people being together. Even when it is dark and cold there is love and trust. In order to build a home you need people who want to do something together. Home can be anywhere.
