Introductionm042fa969b146812c_1528450127855_0Introduction

The teacher prepares for each group of students the set of 7 cards. He places one of the following writings on each card:

A 120804 : 12; E 208060 : 101; I 5040 : 4; K 150510 : 15; N 7168 : 14; Ś 3944 : 8; Ż 14602 : 7.

The students revise the written method of addition, subtraction and multiplication of the natural numbersnatural numbersnatural numbers and the order of operations.

Procedurem042fa969b146812c_1528446435040_0Procedure

The teacher introduces the topic of the lesson: dividing the natural numbersnatural numbersnatural numbers using written method.

The students work individually using their computers. They are going to analyse the slideshow concerning the written method of division of the natural numbersnatural numbersnatural numbers.

Discussion: How do we write the natural numbersnatural numbersnatural numbers to divide them using the written method? How do we do such division? How do we divide two numbers which have zeros at the end?

The discussion can end with the conclusion:

Learning game. The students work in pairs. Each pair gets the set of 7 cards prepared earlier by the teacher. The students use the written method to calculate the operations on the paper. Next they the put the results in the ascending orderascending orderascending order. The letters read step by step make the key word- the name of the mountain peak.

After completing the task the student use the computer to answer the following questions: What mountain range does the peak belong to? What is its altitude?

The winner is the pair which guess the key word and answer the questions as the first one.

The key word: Śnieżka

The students can give the answer: Śnieżka is the highest peak in Sudety. Its altitude equals 1603,3 m above sea level.

The students do the multiplication of the natural numbersnatural numbersnatural numbers on their own. They compare their results in pairs.

Task 1
Calculate using the written method.

a. 5410 : 9

b. 3564 : 11

c. 88621 : 401

d. 819000 : 4500.

Task 2
Write the task in the form of the arithmetic expression and calculate its value.

a. The number of 1859 reduce by 13 times.

b. The productproductproduct of the numbers 483 and 21 increase by their quotationquotationquotation.

c. the sumsumsum of the numbers 487 and 233 divide by 24.

An extra task:
Adam divided the number by 29. He got the quotationquotationquotation of 17 and the remainder of 13.

a. What number did Adam divide?

b. What result would he get if he divided the same number by 17?

Lesson summarym042fa969b146812c_1528450119332_0Lesson summary

The students do the summarising tasks.

Then they sumsumsum up the class drawing the conclusions to memorise:

- To divide two natural numbersnatural numbersnatural numbers using the written method we write them next to each other and we place the line above the dividenddividenddividend

- We start the division from the left side of the dividenddividenddividend and we write the result above the line.

- If we divide the natural numbersnatural numbersnatural numbers with zeros at the end we can cross out the same number of zeros both of the dividenddividenddividend and divisordivisordivisor.
