Orienteering is a timed racetimed race. It started in Sweden, but it is now more and more popular in different places around the world. It is an outdoor sportoutdoor sport. Runners, called orienteersorienteers, must run from one point to another. They must also use a mapmap and compasscompass. If you are good at reading maps, like nature, and love running, then orienteering is for you. You can be old or young, and very fitfit or not so fit, because you can always choose the routechoose the route that will be the best for you. Orienteering is perfect for everyone.

There are different levelsdifferent levels of orienteering and places where you can do it. Orienteering can take place in a park, forest, the countryside, or even a city. It depends on the level of participants and challengeschallenges. On difficult orienteeringorienteering races, the points are far away fromfar away from one another, and it is sometimes difficult to find them. On easier routes, you can notice them easily.

Orienteering is cheapcheap because you don’t need special equipmentspecial equipment. At the beginning, you need good walking bootswalking boots for walking and outdoor clothesoutdoor clothes for running. You also need a compass and a whistlewhistle if you need help. At each control point, you have to show your control cardcontrol card, so it is also something you need.
