Hi, my name is Deana and I am from Los Angeles, California. We usually say we live in L.A. People often call it “the City of Angelsangels [angel]Angels” or “the City of Flowers and SunshinesunshineSunshine”. You can also hear that it is “the City Where It Never Rains”. That’s not true. It rains here but not very often. Many people come to L.A. to see Hollywood and film starsfilm stars [film star] (BrE)/movie stars [movie star] (AmE)film stars (or movie stars, as we say in America). But Los Angeles is not only about films and famousfamousfamous actors. It’s so much moremuch moremuch more than that! Here are my favourite attractions you must visit when you come here.

Beaches

L.A. is on the west coastwest coastwest coast of the U.S.A, by the Pacific Ocean. You can find many beautiful sandysandysandy beaches here. They are a perfect place for everybody who loves to be active. People come here to swim, surfsurfsurf, walk, do yoga, or jogjogjog. The beaches are also a great place to relax and sunbathesunbathesunbathe. So if you love the ocean with great waves, you must come and spend some time in L.A.

Los Angeles Zoo

I’m sure you all like animals. So if you would like to see wildlifewildlifewildlife from all over the world, this is a perfect place for you. There are  more than 2,200 animals from all the continents, like elephants, lions, parrots, penguins, fish or lizardslizards [lizard] lizards. You can also learn a lot about them here. Just remember: we don’t feedfeed (verb)feed the animals and we don’t shoutshoutshout in the zoo.

Baseball Game at Dodger Stadium

If you like sports, you must watch a game of baseball at Dodger Stadium. Baseball is a very popular sport in our country and the Dodgers are very importantimportantimportant to people in Los Angeles. The stadium is all blue because this colour represents the Dodgers team. If you don’t get tickets for a game, don’t worrydon’t worrydon’t worry. You can always go on a stadium tourstadium tourstadium tour. You can learn about the Dodgers’ history and visit the fieldfieldfield.

Griffith Observatory

If you are interested inare interested in [be interested in]are interested in the universeuniverseuniverse, you must visit Griffith Observatory.  It is one of the largestthe largestthe largest public observatories in the world. There are telescopestelescopes [telescope]telescopes and everyone can observe the sky day and night. Come and watch the stars and far away galaxiesgalaxies [galaxy] galaxies! You can also have a picnic with a nice viewviewview of the city.
