Complete the text with collocations related to the means the suffragettes used to fight for their rights. In the 19th and early 20th century, no matter what ambitions and wishes women had, they were supposed to remain silent and obey their husbands. But they did have ambitions and did have dreams. And so they finally decided to demand equal rights by means of different tactics to achieve their goal. Suffragettes were known for using more radical means than suffragists, who prefered peaceful solutions such as Tu uzupełnij to bystanders. Emmeline Pankhurst was a charismatic leader who used toTu uzupełnij which were listened to by crowds of women gathered in central London. When women got more desperate, they started to Tu uzupełnij, for example throwing stones at shop windows. Some women Tu uzupełnij to show their anger and desperation. After being unchained they were often arrested and sent to prison. But even there, they didn’t want to give up and they decided to go on a Tu uzupełnij during which they refused to eat. Undoubtedly, women won their right to vote but it was a hard way that took blood, sweat, and tears, and, at times, humiliation. But they would never let go.
