My mom is the most understanding person in the world. She always listens to everything I tell her without judging me. Even if I don’t tell her everything that's going on in my life, I think she knows more than she says. And even if she disagrees with me she patiently watches what I do, let’s me make mistakes. And then helps me.

I used to be a rather shy person who always sat in the back. I wasn’t an introvert but I didn’t know how to talk to people, because I worried what they would think of me. But after going on an international exchange I became much more outgoing and relaxed. I’m a very sociable person now and enjoy having people around me.

I’d like to be a vet. I think it’s very important to be caring, but you also have to be decisive and tough. Many animals will be upset or very hurt and you can’t cry when you see a hurt kitten. You have to be gentle when you help them and patient when they’re scared but you need to be tough too.

Sorry, I didn’t write to you over the summer, but today I have an interesting story for you. Remember that loud boy who sat in the last row and was always making silly jokes nobody laughed at? We always said he was the most annoying person ever. Well… a lot has changed since then. He’s matured a lot and he's actually like my best friend right now. Don’t laugh! Really! His jokes are much more intelligent now, and although he’s self‑confident and energetic, it’s not annoying. He’s learned to listen. I think that’s because our head teacher made him the class vice‑president last year and he had to deal with the headmaster and teachers a lot and had to learn to be polite. It also helped that when he was acting silly students didn’t want to listen to him.
