Grades IV‑VI

II. Programming and solving problems with the use of computer and other digital devices. The student:

3) prepares and presents solutions to problems using basic applications (text and graphic editor, spreadsheetspreadsheetspreadsheet, program for creating multimedia presentation) on his computer or in the cloud, while demonstrating the skills:

a) to create illustrations in a graphic editor: draws with selected tools, transforms images, completes graphics with text,

b) to create text documents: chooses a font, formats paragraphs, inserts illustrations, subtitles and shapes into the text, creates tables and numbered and bulleted lists,

c) to use a spreadsheetspreadsheetspreadsheet while solving tasks related to simple calculationscalculationscalculations: enter data into the spreadsheet, format cells, defines simple formulas and selects charts for data and calculation purposes,

d)  to create short multimedia presentations combining text and graphics, he uses ready‑made templates or designs according to his own ideas;

Introductionmdee1832f79f0bccb_1528450127855_0Introduction

Optical system plays an important role in photo cameras, the main element of which is a lenslenslens, and most often a complicated system of many lenses. It is responsible for modifying the path on which the light - recorded by a digital sensor (rarely by a photosensitive film - in analogue cameras) - travels.

Your task is to present in a multimedia presentation how the image is created in the cameracameracamera. Based on a simple model:

- show the path of light rays in the camera,
- analyse the formation of an enlarged image,
- explain the basic concepts describing the optical system of the cameracameracamera,
- describe what effect the focal length of the lenslenslens has on the magnification.

Preparation for presentation:

- search the Internet for information about lenses, their properties and applications,
- in the graphic program, draw the paths of the light rays passing through the lenses depending on its shape (consider two cases: converging and diverging lens),
- using a spreadsheetspreadsheetspreadsheet:

- perform calculationscalculationscalculations of the image size when using a single converging lenslenslens,
- present the results of calculations on a graph, which type you choose yourself.

To complete the project, you need a computer workplace equipped with:

- graphic program,
- spreadsheetspreadsheetspreadsheet,
- program for creating multimedia presentations
- connection to the Internet allowing you to search information in online resources.

Proceduremdee1832f79f0bccb_1528446435040_0Procedure

You already have all the materials you need to prepare a multimedia presentation. Before you start creating it in the program you choose, carefully plan it. Think about the layoutlayoutlayout and content of the subsequent slides. Think about how you present them.

In the program for creating a multimedia presentation:

- Prepare the title page containing the title, first and last name of the author of the presentation, date, you can also add graphic elements,
- Create an animated slide showing how the ray of light passes through the lens in a simplified camera model. Use a custom animation called a motion path animation effect.
- On the following slides: types of lenses, quantities characterizing lenses, the use of lenses in the optical system of the camera, application of lenses.
- On the next slide, place the calculation and a chart made in the spreadsheet. Take advantage of the ability to copy and paste objects between documents.
- On a separate slide, put the sources you used to get the information for the presentation.

[Interactive graphics]

Consider a method of presenting the slides to gain interest in the audience. To do this, use:

- selected entrance and exit animations of elements in the slides,
- choose slide transitions.

Save the presentation in the selected location on your computer's disk.

Copy the presentation file to the virtual diskvirtual diskvirtual disk. Beforehand, agree the choice of this drive with the teacher. Share it with your teacher.
