We offer comprehensive complementary workshops for trainees. We know how to handle the extremely delicate material which lace is, and we’re willing to share this knowledge with you. During our workshops, we will elaborate on and work on the following subjects:
How to handle lace?
Remember that lace is a delicate product. It consists of thin cotton threads so it’s sensitive to being handed in an incompetent way. It mustn’t be pulled suddenly, strongly tightenedtightened, or rubbed hard.
How to prepare lace for repairs?
Before repairing damagesrepairing damages, such as torn off lacetorn off lace, you should cleanclean the lace of any dirtdirt.
How to clean lace?
Prepare lukewarm water in which you will dissolvedissolve a washing agentwashing agent, or a green soap. Remember not to soaksoak the lace in washing agents for too long. Wash it by handWash it by hand by rinsingrinsing and pressingpressing.
What to do after cleaning?
After washing the lace, rinse it a few times until the water is clear. You mustn’t wringwring it, just squeeze out the watersqueeze out the water lightly. Then, spread the lace to dry in order to give it the proper shape.
After the workshops, you will be given a certificate confirming your participation in the classes. For the workshops which will be held this Friday at 5 o’clock in our plant, you may bring your own lace on which you would like to work.
