Do you know that the first ever presentation of a sound motion picture took place on 6 October 1927? The movie “Jazz singer” had elements of lip‑synchronized dialogues and the songs sung by the main character. It can be said that it was the end of the silent films era.
During the presentation of such a movie, a pianist played a melody that matched a movie scene. Since then, all movies have been recorded with the voicevoicevoice of the actors. Foreign films, that we watch, often have alternate soundtracksoundtracksoundtrack and the original actors’ voices are replaced with voices of other actors. In case of this sort of dubbing we don’t have to bother reading subtitled translations of the dialogues. Originally recorded sound and picture doesn’t usually have any crucial information, which would be really essential. What’s more it may absolutely unnecessary. For example, tourists’ conversations recorded when filming beautiful mountain scenery. In many cases the recorded material requires narration. Thus, you need to add commentary made by a speaker. To make the commentaries audible the original soundtracksoundtracksoundtrack (e.g. including the abovementioned tourists’ conversations) needs to be muted. The original soundtrack can also be replaced by a musical theme.

You have recently made a graphic path for the movie entitled “Technologies of the future”. At the moment the movie is silent and doesn’t even have any subtitles. So, it’s high time you changed it. Add text to the graphic elements, the titletitletitle of the movie and the list of all the people who took part in the film making. Add some sound elements, too. Think, which moments of the movie need commentaries made by a speaker and where the movie requires music.
Remember that a movie, apart from the pictures, requires also music, text presented by a speaker and displayed text, which is usually the title and additional comments.
