How to Make Time for Leisure in a Busy Life?
Tomasz Wiśniewski How to Make Time for Leisure in a Busy Life?

Have you always wanted to incorporate some exciting hobbies into your daily schedule but never knew how? Have you always wanted to learn a new language? Perhaps it has been your dream to learn scuba divingscuba diving [scuba dive]scuba diving, crochetingcrocheting [crochet]crocheting or aquascapingaquascaping [aquascape]aquascaping? Well, it’s better late than neverbetter late than never (idiom)better late than never!

Our lives are packed to the brimto the brimto the brim with choreschores [chore]chores, things to do, various errandserrands [errand]errands, assignments, and tests, and we are constantly rushing against the clockagainst the clockagainst the clock! As times go by, our world becomes faster and spare timespare timespare time just seems to evaporateevaporateevaporate. We have so little timelittle timelittle time to do what we love, or what we dream about. How to make time formake time for (sb/sth)make time for such activities in a hectichectichectic lifestyle if we just don’t have the timehave the timehave the time? The simple answer is: change your mindset.mindsetmindset. After all, we are never out of timeout of timeout of time – there is so much of it. All we need is to prioritiseprioritiseprioritise certain activities, look closely at how we kill time, and make a few smart adjustments.

One of the ways is to analyze your daily schedule and find out what makes you waste time.waste timewaste time. Identify the activities that you spend time on unproductivelyunproductivelyunproductively, like hours spent scrolling through social media or mindlessmindlessmindless flicking flicking [flick] (verb)flicking  through the TV channels. Time fliestime fliesTime flies so fast when your screen is constantly on – perhaps it’s time to switch it off? Try to replace it with some valuable activities instead. After all, time is moneytime is moneytime is money, and you wouldn’t want to waste money, would you?

Another way to come up with some spare timespare timespare time for your pastimes is to change the way you plan your days. If we schedule them properly, consulting the clock and the calendar, we can plan out activities precisely so as to do them at a set timeat a set timeat a set time. This will also give you an important overviewoverviewoverview of the days in which you have some time offtime offtime off, for example from work or school. It’s usually a good idea to plan your activities on these days.

Finally, you can try to speed up some of the things you do, in order to save timesave timesave time, or reduce the time you spend on some things. You can try to use a stopwatchstopwatchstopwatch when doing repetitive tasks in order to beat your timingsbeat your timings [beat one’s timings]beat your timings, or cut down oncut down on somethingcut down on sleep, especially if you love to stay in bed for excessiveexcessiveexcessive hours.
