Lesson stages

Introductionm21b9ea89f8366253_1528450127855_0Introduction

Every student prepares 4 cards for the lesson. Each card has got one number of the following: 0, 1, 4, 5.

Students discuss what the divisor of the natural numberdivisor of the natural numberdivisor of the natural number means. They also revise the notion of the multiple of the natural number.

Procedurem21b9ea89f8366253_1528446435040_0Procedure

Teacher introduces the topic of the lesson: recognising and writing down the numbers which are divisible by 2, 5, 10 and 100.

Task 1

Students work individually using their computers. They are going to analyse the slideshow concerning the rule divisibility by 2.

[Slideshow]

On the basis on information they have gained the students recognise the numbers divisible by 2, so the even numbers.m21b9ea89f8366253_1527752263647_0On the basis on information they have gained the students recognise the numbers divisible by 2, so the even numbers.

Task 2

Among the given numbers: 1345672; 786003; 93887; 200004; 1000006; 33458; 20000; 34655; 10000001; 87007; 83934; 90009 identify and write down the even numbers.

Task 3

Write down four subsequent natural numbers which are divisible by 2 larger than 430 and lower than 450 whose the sum is the largest.

Task 4

Group work. The students are going to write down initial, tententen multiples of numbers 5, 10 and 100. Next, using the think‑pair‑share they try to give the rules of the divisibility by 5, 10 and 100.

The students should notice, that:

- the natural number id divisible by 5 when the units digitunits digitunits digit is 0 or 5,
- the natural number is divisible by 10, when the units digit is 0,
- the natural number is divisible by 100, when the units digit and the ten digit is 0.

On the basis of information gained the students recognise the numbers divisible by 5, 10 and 100.

Task 5

Among the following numbers: 45675; 20300; 5560; 20005; 650000; 24030; 46705; 273850 identify and write down the numbers:

a) divisible by 5

b) divisible by 10

c) divisible by 100

Task 6

Give the largest and the smallest fivefivefive-digit number which is divisible by 5.

The students use the cards they have brought for the lesson.

Task 7

Use the cards with the numbers you have prepared for the lesson to make the all three‑digit numbers which are divisible by:

a) 2

b) 5

c) 10

The digits in the numbers cannot be repeated.

An extra task:

The sum of the twotwotwo-digit number equals 13. The number is too large by two to be divided with no remainder by 5 and too small by 1 to be divided with no remainder by 2. What is the number?

Lesson summarym21b9ea89f8366253_1528450119332_0Lesson summary

The students do the summarising tasks.

Then they sum up the class drawing the conclusions to memorise:

The natural number is divisible:

- By 2, when it has one of the following numbers : 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8, in the units digit,m21b9ea89f8366253_1527752256679_0- By 2, when it has one of the following numbers : 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8, in the units digit,

- by 5, when it has the following numbers: 0 or 5 in the units digitunits digitunits digit,

- by 10, when it has zero in the units digit,

- by 100, when it has 0 in the units digit and in the tens digit.
