Interviewer: Gabrielle, hello and welcome to our program 15 quick questions to a star. I still can’t believe that you’ve agreed to give us this exclusive interview! We’ve been waiting for it for five long years!
Gabrielle: Hi everyone. It’s good to be here.
I: Rumour has it that you have some great news for your fans. Is that true?
G: Yes, I’m about to put out my new album.
I: I hear the last few years have been quite challenging for you. How have you been doing?
G: I am great now, thank you, but I had some problems with my vocal cords and this case with the stalker really drained me.
I: What’s one thing that you have learnt during this time?
G: I’ve discovered that you can achieve the impossible if you don’t give up.
I: Let me ask you a few questions about your past: when did you realise that your voice is unique?
G: It wasn’t really one particular event. At some moment in my childhood I just noticed that people like it and so I decided to use this gift in my life.
I: Do you remember the name of the pub where you first sang?
G: Of course, it was The Shacklewell Arms in London, I still love it!
I: And which venue was the most intimidating or frightening to perform in?
G: Definitely Wembley Stadium, over 80,000 people there, I was so nervous!
I: You are also a songwriter. What were you thinking about when you were writing your biggest hit, “In my arms”?
G: I was thinking about my son and all the difficult times he may have in the future. He will always have me to hold him and give unconditional love.
I: Do you ever get emotional while singing?
G: Yes, I do cry sometimes when I sing my songs, especially “Lonely”, because it’s so personal. I always get choked up during this song in a concert.
I: Do you read what gossip magazines and people on the internet write about you?
G: Very rarely. I don’t want to get frustrated about all the misinformation there.
I: What’s the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard about yourself?
G: Any kind of gossip about my love life: none of it is true!
I: How do you handle being recognised in public?
G: Well, I don’t love it, but I manage. I got used to it.
I: What would you do if you weren’t a singer?
G: I wanted to be an English teacher when I was a kid, so probably that’s what I’d be doing.
I: We were all worried about you when you had to take a break from singing because of your throat surgery. Do you notice any difference in your voice pre and post the procedure?
G: I’d say before the surgery it was really deep and husky, now it sounds so clean and pure!
I: And now the question on behalf of all your fans: when are we going to see you perform live in a concert?
G: Very soon I hope! I am ready to go on the tour any moment!
I: Last question: what is something new that you will explore for the first time on your next album?
G: That’s a secret, you will have to wait and see.
I: Gabrielle, thank you for this meeting.
G: My pleasure! I really enjoyed it.
